The Children’s Aid Society created the National Center for Community Schools in 1994. Read more about how we have drawn from the rich history of Children’s Aid, our own practice in New York City and lessons learned from providing technical assistance nationally and internationally. 
The Center has provided assistance to nearly all of the nation’s major community school initiatives and hosted visitors from over 40 countries. 
The Center has a core staff based in New York City as well as part-time, out-based consultants across the country. Learn more about the talented professionals on our dynamic team. 
The substantial knowledge base of the National Center for Community Schools is drawn extensively from the experience of our Children’s Aid Society community schools in New York City.
